Jung’s Psychological Types
Jung’s Typology is a psychology of consciousness or ego psychology.
We will learn to understand the rather complex, dynamic structure of the interrelationship and interaction of the two Attitude Types and the four Functions. There will be brief reference to some later developments and variations of Jung’s basic model.
Next we will discover how an understanding of the Types can contribute to an understanding of ourselves and our relations to others - to our families, our patients and the world.
Jung saw his theory of Types as revealing a spiral movement on the way towards the process of Individuation. Essential in this process is the recognition and meeting with our Inferior Function. We will touch on the relevance to a view of pathology from the perspective of Jung’s Types.
